Short answer: To remove metadata from a photo, drop a JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC into AI Remover Pro. The metadata cleaner strips supported EXIF, GPS, IPTC, XMP and AI metadata in your browser without uploading the image or recompressing its pixels. In-pixel watermarks such as SynthID are not metadata and are outside this tool.

How to remove metadata from a photo
- Choose one or more JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC images.
- Review the cleaning mode and the metadata report.
- Adjust naming, metadata or location only when you need them.
- Download clean copies. Your original files are never modified.

A metadata remover built for private sharing
Every image is processed locally with WebAssembly-grade code running in your browser tab. Your images are never uploaded, stored or logged. An image metadata remover online keeps your files completely private. Open your developer tools and watch the Network panel: no image data leaves the page.
What gets removed
- EXIF: camera model, lens, software and timestamps
- GPS: the exact latitude and longitude where a photo was taken
- IPTC & XMP: author, description, keywords and editing history
- AI metadata: C2PA / Content Credentials, IPTC
DigitalSourceType, and Stable Diffusion / ComfyUI generationparameters - Thumbnails & ICC profile in Full clean mode
Honest about what we can't remove
This tool lets you clear metadata from photo files, delete image metadata records, and strip metadata from photo containers. Invisible in-pixel watermarks such as Google SynthID live in the image pixels themselves and cannot be removed by stripping metadata: no metadata tool can. We tell you when an image carries AI markers so you know what you are dealing with. If you specifically need to remove AI metadata such as C2PA or Content Credentials, that dedicated tool keeps ordinary camera EXIF while targeting just the AI-provenance fields.
Full clean or AI-only, your choice
Use Full clean to remove every supported metadata block, or switch to AI-only mode to clear just C2PA, Content Credentials and other AI-provenance markers while keeping your camera EXIF and GPS intact. The result report shows exactly what was found and what changed before you download.
