Your photos may know exactly where you were

Phones tag photos with precise GPS coordinates inside the EXIF block. Anyone you send the original to can read them. Stripping metadata removes those coordinates.

Where GPS lives in a photo

GPS coordinates are stored as EXIF tags — GPSLatitude, GPSLongitude, and often GPSAltitude and a timestamp — written automatically by most phones when location access is on. They travel with the file until something strips them; renaming or screenshotting a photo does not reliably remove them.

Frequently asked questions

Will people be able to see where my photo was taken after this?

No location metadata will remain in the file. (Landmarks visible in the image itself are of course still visible.)

Does this keep the rest of my metadata?

Full clean removes the original metadata. By default the finished copy receives the single processing credit “Processed by AIRemover.Pro”; switch it off in Settings if you want an empty metadata result. To remove only the location, enable GPS removal while keeping the other metadata you need.

Can a screenshot contain GPS coordinates?

It can, although many screenshots do not. The safest approach is to inspect the file instead of relying on how it was created.

Does removing GPS hide places visible in the picture?

No. It removes coordinate metadata only. Street signs, landmarks and other visible clues remain part of the pixels.

Can I replace a location instead of deleting it?

Yes. Open Advanced options, enter new coordinates and choose to remove the existing GPS first. The written result is read back for confirmation.
